My name is Olga Herrera. I am a Latinx Author and Illustrator of children's books. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Ringling College of Art and Design with a major in Illustration, graduating with honors.
My work is colorful, whimsical, and fun. I love drawing people! Kids, pets, and family members showing emotion, action, and storytelling narrative scenes perfect for children's publishing.
I am the co-founder and co-host of ILLOCHAT, a podcast about the journey of professional illustration.
I am also a member of the SCBWI. And have the honor of winning the Regional Conference logo competition for two consecutive years (MD/DE/WV 2019 & 2020). I have been a mentor, teacher, and presenter for several events.
Besides creating my content, I also teach illustration in traditional and digital techniques, creative writing for fiction picture books, and offer mentorships and portfolio reviews.
I am bilingual and enjoy the mixture of my Cuban and Ecuadorian cultural roots.

I grew up in Ecuador, a beautifully diverse country close to my heart. As a Florida native, I traded year-round summers for the fun of experiencing every season. I now live in the picturesque state of Maryland. With my husband, two children, and too many pets.
You can find more illustrations and see what projects I am working on by following me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
